DESCRIPTION: Dual direction trails die. The first set of trail lines is

seen on the tops of the letters of UNUM and has an offset direction

of 300 degrees. The other set is from the word FIRST and can be

seen from the bottom of the letters in that word. The offset direction

for this set is 120 degrees.

QUARTER. This is the strongest trail die on a quarter, either

obverse or reverse. The offset direction is 340 degrees.

DESCRIPTION: Numerous, moderate trails can be seen

from, THE QUALITY STATE, MING of WYOMING, 1890,

 the cowboys face, the pommel on the saddle, the horse’s

mane, E . PLURIBUS . UNUM and the date. The offset

direction is 120 degrees. This is by far the strongest trail

die encountered on a quarter.

DESCRIPTION: An unusual die that has two sets of reciprocal

bearing trail lines. The first set, which is the major set, has trails

from the toe of King Kumehameha, the base of the statue, the 2

digit in the date and some of the letters in E PLURIBUS. The

offset directions for this set are 090 degrees and 270 degrees.

The other set, which is minor, is located on the designers initials

and have directional offsets of 030 degrees and 210 degrees.

This is the first die of its kind.
