in the date and the mint mark. This is a dual directional trail
die with
offset directions of 270 and 120 degrees.

die gouge is seen in bay 2. Two
die gouges are seen on either side

DESCRIPTION: Trails are seen on AMERICA, the right corners
of
the
stylobate and the word CENT. Another set of fainter trails is
seen on the left letters of the EPU and the bottom
terminus of the
first
S in STATES.The offset directions
are 060 degrees
(the stronger
set) and 300 degrees (the weaker set).
DIE
MARKERS: Stage “B”,
obverse is MDS – multiple die gouges
are seen on the obverse surface. Two
stronger ones are seen on the I of IN
and the O of GOD. Also seen are
numerous die gouges around the date.
Reverse is MDS – a die dent is seen
next to the rim over the R of AMERICA.
A series of die gouges is seen next to the
left corner of the Memorial Building.
