DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines are seen from the corners of the

letters in STATES. Also seen are faint trail lines from the TED of

UNITED. This die exhibits dual offset directional lines with relative

bearings of 090 and 270 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – unspecified die
                                               damage on Lincoln’s forehead. Also
                                               seen is a die chip in the same local.              
                                               Reverse is MDS – a die crack is seen
                                               from the rim, through the J of the
                                               designer’s initials and into the right base
                                               of the log cabin.
NOTE: This is the first trail die found for this year and maybe the first
recorded die anomaly. This was found by Jason Dick of Ohio
