DESCRIPTION: Light to moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. This die was found by Louis Schaeffer of Maryland.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted.

Reverse is MDS – die scratching in bays 4, 5 and 6. Die scratches in the left part of the stairs.

DESCRIPTION: Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6 and 7, with emphasis on the left side. the offset direction is 180 degrees. This die was found by Louis Schaeffer of Maryland.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted.

Reverse is MDS – clash marks are seen in bay 3. A die gouge is seen at the left base of the T in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines form the tops of the left side letters in EPU. Also seen are trails from the tops of the letters STA of STATES and UNI of UNITED. The offset direction is 300 degrees. This die was found by Jeremy Gardner of Kentucky.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – vertical die scratches in front of Lincoln’s face.

Reverse is LDS – die gouge in the O of ONE.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the bottom of the AMERI  of AMERICA and the F of OF. There is some extension to the serifs on the letters of the EPU. The offset direction is 270 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is LDS; heavy die scratching is seen on the entire obverse. More than likely this was done to remove a die clash.

Reverse is MDS – none noted.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – moderate die scratching is seen diagonally through the date.

Reverse is LDS – die damage is seen between the O and N of ONE.

DESCRIPTION:  Moderate trail lines, extending into the stylobate can be seen under columns 2 and 3. Moderate step deviation can be seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. The offset direction is 180°.

Die Markers: Obverse is EDS – a small doie dot is seen above the 8 digit.

 Reverse is EDS – die abrasion is seen between the base of the Memorial building and the O of ONE.
