1993P – 1DER; 001 – 010 Files

1993P-1DER-001T                                 060º

DESCRIPTION: There are elongated periods and letters in the motto EPU, with ramped extra thickness. The statue of Lincoln is distorted. The ERIC of AMERICA shows distortion on the top horizontal bars of those letters. The I of AMERICA does have a short trail line. The offset direction appears to be 060 degrees; however, since this die does not have long “trail” lines, it is difficult to determine the exact direction.

Notice the extra thickness and the slight tilt to the northeast of Lincoln’s left arm and left knee. While extra ramped thickness can be attributed to other causes, in the case of trail dies, the thickness is in one direction only. This die was found by Bob Piazza of Florida.
