DESCRIPTION: Moderate fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 2 and 3. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with an offset direction of 180 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none noted

Reverse is LDS – a series of five die gouges under the left Memorial building base. Old die scrape in the bottom of bay 1.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 10, 11 and 12. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with emphasis on the right side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – two die gouges around the mint mark.

Reverse is MDS – small die gouge below right base shrubs. Another die gouge in the right base shrub

DESCRIPTION: Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with an offset direction of 200 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die gouge below the last T of TRUST.

Reverse is MDS – die crack in between the E and R of AMERICA.

 

1995D-1DER-006WS                                170°

DESCRIPTION: Fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 10 and 11. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, with an offset direction of 170º. This die was found by Patrick Gaughan of Penn.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die gouge on the right side of the T in LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – die dot on the right side of the O in ONE.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none observed.

Reverse is LDS – die gouge under left base line, to the left of the O in ONE. Die gouge under the right base line, to the right of the T in CENT.

 

1995D-1DER-008WS                                190°

DESCRIPTION: Light fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 2 and 3. There is light to moderate step deviation under columns 5, 6, 7 And 8. The offset direction is 190º.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse id LEDS – none noted.

Reverse is LEDS – two small die dots in bay # 10. Two small die dots are seen to the lower right of the I in AMERICA.

 

1995D-1DER-009T                                    330°

DESCRIPTION: Moderate trails are seen from the tops of the letters in EPU. There is also a trail line seen from the bottom terminus of the last S in STATES. The offset direction is 330 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die gouges around the R of LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – die scratch between the C and A of AMERICA.

NOTE: This side was found by Joshua Haynes.

1995D-1DER-010T                                    030°

DESCRIPTION:  Trail lines are seen from the right top corners of most of the letters in EPU. Also seen are trail on the AME of AMERICA and a few of the right side column tops. The offset direction is 030 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted.

Reverse is MDS – old die scratches from the TE of UNITED down to the C of CENT. A die dent is seen near the rim under the C of CENT.
