DIE MAKERS: Stage “B”, Obverse is MDS – die dot below the B of LIBERTY. Rim gouge above the L of LIBERTY

Reverse is MDS – none observed.

Stage “C”, Obverse is LDS – die dot and rim gouge still present.

Reverse is LDS – die dot in the right center of the O in ONE.

DESCRIPTION: The obverse die has weak trail lines from the tops of the 9’s in the date with an offset direction of 040°.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, Obverse is MDS – small die gouge to the left of the L in LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – die gouge to the lower right of the N in CENT. See 1999P-1DER-025WS

DESCRIPTION: Strong trails from the date (1999) and the bottom of the bust, with an offset direction of 170º.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, Obverse is LDS – die chip in the loop of the second 9 in the date.

Reverse is LDS – small die gouge between the U and N of UNITED.

NOTES: Major trail die. This die was found by Tery Naticchia of Florida.

DESCRIPTION: Light trails from the tops of LIBER of LIBERTY, with an offset direction of 340º.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, Obverse is MDS – Three small die gouges by the G of GOD.

Reverse is MDS – die dot in the upper part of bay 11. Two small die gouges by the last A of AMERICA.

NOTES:  This die was found by Steven Bingham of Missouri.

DESCRIPTION; Light to moderate trail lines are seen from the lower left corners of the letters in LIBERTY. The offset direction is 190º. If this die had been made with the reverse hub, it would have been a west shifted wavy step.

Reverse is LEDS – none observed.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate trail lines from the lower left corners of the 1 and two 9’s of the date. The offset direction is 250°.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, Obverse is LDS – none noted.

Reverse is LDS – a cluster of die dots between the N of UNITED and the left cornice edge. A large die dot is to the right of the T in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Trail distortion is seen on the tops of the letters in LIBERTY, with the exception of the Y. The offset direction is estimated to be 000 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die scratching under GOD. Long, diagonal die scratch is seen over LIBERTY.

NOTE: This die was found by Bill Slaughter of Arkansas.

DESCRIPTION: Reciprocal trail lines are seen on the RTY of LIBERTY. The offset directions are 130 degrees and 310 degrees. Reciprocal trail lines are caused by die movement in one direction and then with movement back to the original position.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is EMDS – none noted.

Reverse is EMDS – newer die clashes are seen in bays 4, 8 and 9.

DESCRIPTION: Faint trail lines are seen from the top of the letters in LIBERTY. The most predominant is the trail from the Y. The offset direction is 350 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – five small die gouges in and around the date.

Reverse is MDS – die scratch to the right of the E in CENT.

NOTE: This die was found by Louis Schaeffer.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the tops of the letters in LIBERTY. Also seen are trails from the letters of IN and GOD. The offset direction is 010 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – two die gouges under Lincoln’s bust. There is also a rim nick just under the VDB.

Reverse is LDS – none noted.
