DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is MDS – a small die dent is seen in the field below the ME of AMERICA.

Reverse is MDS – a die crack is seen from the bow of the canoe.

DESCRIPTION: Faint trail lines can be seen from the tops of the letters in the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The offset direction is 030°

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is MDS – a die crack is seen in the base of the bust of Washington that extends partially into the field

Reverse is MDS – a die dent is seen in the field, to the right of the upper right arm of the star.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen on UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, IN GOD WE TRUST, LIBERTY and on the U of QUARTER. This is the strongest trail die on a quarter, either obverse or reverse. The offset direction is 340 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B” obverse is MDS – none noted.

Reverse is MDS – small die gouge under the 1 and 8 of the 1850 date. Another small die gouge is seen under the last A of CALIFORNIA.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the bottom of the letters of LIBERTY. The offset direction is 150º.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C“, obverse is LDS – a die crack is seen along the lower base of Washington’s bust.

Reverse is LDS – a die crack is seen from the lower right side corner of the mound to the rim.

DESCRIPTION: Trails are seen from the tops of the letters of IN GOD WE TRUST. Also seen are trail lines from ERI of AMERICA.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die chip in the queue above the A of DOLLAR. Three small die dots to the left of the designer’s initials on Washington’s throat.

Reverse is MDS – none noted.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the motto EPU and the ARTE of QUARTER. The offset direction is 230º. This has a reverse trail die; 2006P-25DER-001T(NE)

 

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C“, obverse is LDS – a die crack is seen from the left base of Washington’s bust to the U in QUARTER.

Reverse is LDS – a small die gouge is seen to the left of the P in PLURIBUS

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the top right corners of the letters in the words IN GOD WE TRUST and the mint mark. Also seen are light trail lines from the R of DOLLAR and the Y of LIBERTY. The offset direction is 060 degrees.

2007P(UT)-25DEO-001T                             120°

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the bottom of the RTY of LIBERTY and the bottom of the letters in the word QUARTER. The offset direction is 120°.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is MDS – a die crack with die chip is seen on the left bottom tip of the bust and into the field.

Reverse is MDS – none noted

2008P(HI)-25DEO-001T   120°, 190° & 310°

DESCRIPTION: An actual triple directional trails die, this quarter shows trail lines in two directions on LIBERTY, and single directional trail lines on the motto, and the R of QUARTER.  The offset directions are 120, 190, and 310 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – A small die gouge between A and R of DOLLAR.

Reverse is MDS – A small die crack between the two zeros of the date.

Stage “C “, obverse is MDS – die clash marks are seen on Washington’s neck area.

Reverse is MDS – heavy die scratching is seen to obliterate the clash marks left by the obverse die.

2008P(HI)-25DEO-002T           010° & 190°

DESCRIPTION: Sharp, short trail lines are seen in two directions from the motto “In God We Trust”. The first set, from the top right corners of the letters has an offset direction of 010 degrees. The other set, which is on a reciprocal bearing, is 190 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is EDS – light diagonal die scratches are seen around the LIB of LIBERTY.

Reverse is EDS – a diagonal die scratch is seen over the 2 of the date.

2009P(DC)-25DEO-001T          150° & 330°

DESCRIPTION: Dual directional trail lines are seen from the word LIBERTY. The stronger directional trails has an offset direction of 150 degrees while the weaker set has an offset direction of 330 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is EDS – none noted.

Reverse is EDS – none noted.

Stage “B”, obverse is LEDS – a small die gouge is seen below the U of UNITED.

DESCRIPTION:  Moderate trail lines are seen from the left bottom corners of the letters in LIBERTY. Light trail lines are also seen on the UAR of the word QUARTER. The offset direction is 200 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is EDS – none noted.

Reverse is EDS – a die gouge is seen between the MB of COLUMBIA. Two die dents are seen to the right of the piano. Another small die gouge is seen above the T of JUSTICE

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the bottom of the letters in LIBERTY and the word QUARTER. The offset direction is 240º.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C“, obverse is LDS – a die dot is seen below the E of LIBERTY. A small die gouge is seen below the S of STATES. Another small die gouge is seen below the A of AMERICA.
