DESCRIPTION: Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6 and 7.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – a large grouping of die dots around the T of TRUST.

Reverse is MDS – two small die gouges under the left post (urn).

 

2002D-1DER-002WS                               190°

DESCRIPTION: Light fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under column 3. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. The offset direction is 190 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none noted.

Reverse is LDS – die dots around the U of UNITED. Die dots on to the left, one under the S of PLURIBUS.

 

2002D-1DER-003T                                  300°

DESCRIPTION: Thin trail lines can be seen from the letters of the motto. The offset direction is 300 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, Obverse is MDS – a series of small die gouges to the east and south of LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – Die damage (striations) from the rim and through  the ST of STATES.

NOTE: This die was found by Bob Piazza of Florida.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen on some of the lower left corners of some letters in EPU. The offset direction is 250 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none observed.

Reverse is LDS – a die gash is seen to the right of the A in STATES. Die damage is seen on the inside of the U in UNITED.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. The offset direction is 180 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen to the right of the E in WE.

Reverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen just above the right side of the M in UNUM.

2002D-1DER-006T                                  320°

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the top left corners of the letters in the EPU. Also seen are trail lines from the left corners of the stylobate. The offset direction is 320 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – A small die gouge is seen under the N of IN.

Reverse is MDS – a die dot is seen to the right of column 12. A short, heavy die scratch is seen between the TA of STATES.
