DESCRIPTION: Light fluting line extension is seen entering the stylobate under columns 2 and 3. Light step deviation is seen  under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – die gouges are seen around LIBERTY.  A die gouge is seen to the left of the mint mark.

Reverse is LDS – short, light die scratches protrude from the memorial base. A die gouge is seen in the field above the FG. Light, parallel die scratches from the right memorial base tip.

NOTE: This die was found by Bob Piazza of Florida.

 

2003D-1DER-002T                                   120°

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines can be seen from the bottom of the letters in the motto EPU. Also seen are trail lines from the bottom letters TAT in STATES. The offset direction is 120°.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is LDS – a small die gouge is seen above and in between the L and I of LIBERTY. Another small die gouge is seen in the mint mark.

Reverse is MDS – none noted
