DESCRIPTION: Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6 and 7, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die gouge on the bottom of the R in LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – extra column on right side of Lincoln seated.

NOTE: This is a doubled die since there is an extra seventh column.

DESCRIPTION: Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none observed.

Reverse is MDS – die gouge in O of ONE. A small die gouge is seen by the left roof corner.

DESCRIPTION: Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6 and 7, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none observed.

Reverse is MDS – die crack in column 3 and into the cornice above bay 3.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – die crack on Lincoln’s forehead.

Reverse is LDS – die cracks in and over columns 2, 3 and 4. Die chip in columns 1 and 4.

DESCRIPTION: Light fluting line extension is seen entering the stylobate under columns 2 and 3. Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die crack on Lincoln’s forehead.

Reverse is MDS – die cracks in and over columns 1, 2 and 3. Die chip in column 1 and 3. Die crack in cornice over Bay 3.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate to strong, multiple, fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 10, 11 and 12. Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. The offset direction is 180 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die break between the B and E of LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – die scratch from the bottom left base line.

DESCRIPTION: Light steps deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with emphasis on the right side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die gouge in the field by Lincoln’s forehead.

Reverse is MDS – die dent next to the rim below the designer’s initials.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate, multiple fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 11 and 12. Moderate steps deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with emphasis on the right side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die gouge on the coat, below and to the left of the date.

Reverse is MDS – die chip and crack on the upper right side of column 4.

DESCRIPTION: Light step deviation is seen under columns 6 and 7, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none observed

Reverse is MDS – Die crack from right cornice tip, through the I of AMERICA, to the rim. Die crack from column 4 into cornice. Die gouge under the last S of STATES. Die scrapes in bay 1, 5 and 6.
