DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die dot in the R of LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – light, diagonal die scratching in bays 2 and 3.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate fluting line extension, into the stylobate, is seen under column 10 and 11. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, with an offset direction of 170º.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none observed.

Reverse is MDS – die scratch over the D in UNITED. Die dot in the field under the E of STATES.

DESCRIPTION: Light to moderate step deviation under columns 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8, with an offset direction of 170º. Also seen are faint trail lines from the bottom of the letters in UNUM.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none observed.

Reverse is MDS – die chip on the the top of column 2. Die dot to the right of column 12.

DESCRIPTION: Light to moderate fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 10 and 11. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9, with an offset direction of 170º.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – three small die dots to the west of Lincoln’s ear.

Reverse is MDS – small die crack in the center of the first U in UNUM.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate steps deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. The offset direction is 180 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die dot just outside the forward hair line.

Reverse is MDS – extra sixth column to the right of column 6.

NOTE: Die found by Steven Bingham of Missouri. The reverse die has a minor doubled die.

 

2003P-1DER-056T                                    330°

DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines are seen from the tops of the letters in EPU. Also seen are a few trail lines from the top of the right side scroll work on the cornice. The offset direction is 330 degrees.

DIE MAKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is EDS – none noted.

Reverse is EDS – none noted.

NOTE: This die was found by Joshua Haynes.

 

2003P-1DER-057T                                        320º

DESCRIPTION: Very similar to 2003P-1DER-020T, this die has moderate trail lines from the tops of all the letters in EPU and the bottom termini of the two S in STATES. The offset direction is 320 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – light die scratches under Lincoln’s nose.

Reverse is MDS – small die crack and chip from the top of the left planter and onto column 3.

NOTE: This die was found by Bob Piazza of Florida.

 

 

2003P-1DER-058T                                   330°

DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines are seen from the left top corners of the letters in PLURIBUS and UNUM. The offset direction is 330 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS- none noted.

Reverse is MDS – two small die gouges near the U of UNITED. Die scratches are seen between the CA of AMERICA and the twelfth column.

NOTE: This die was found by Jeremy Gardner.

 

2003P-1DER-059WS                                      170°

DESCRIPTION:  Trail lines are seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8 causing moderate step deviation. Fluting line extension is seen entering into the stylobate under columns 10 and 11. The offset direction of all lines is 170 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is EMDS – a group of small die gouges is seen in the field below LIBERTY.

Reverse is EMDS – small die gouges are seen in bays 6, 7 and 8. A group of small die gouges is seen in the field from the last A of AMERICA to the right corners of the stylobate.

2003P-1DER-060WS                              180°


DESCRIPTION: Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. Fluting line extension is seen under column 10. Also seen are trail lines from the C and T of CENT. The offset direction is 180 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die gouges are seen between the ER and above the Y of LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – none noted.
