DESCRIPTION: Moderate trails from the bottom of the letters in LIBERTY. Notice the slight letter distortion on the bottoms of the T and Y, which come to an off center point instead of being flat. The offset direction is 200 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is EDS – the beginning of a die crack is seen in Lincoln’s hair

Reverse is EDS – small die scratch, next to the rim, between the N and I of UNITED.

DESCRIPTION:  Moderate trails from the tops of the letters in LIBERTY. The offset direction is 350 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is EDS – small die crack on Lincoln’s forehead.

Reverse is EDS – none observed.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate trail lines from the upper, left corners of the letters in LIBERTY and IN. The offset direction of the trails is 330º.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is EDS – none noted

Reverse is EDS – die crack is seen from the left Urn into the third column.

Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none observed.

Reverse is MDS – die chip on the lower part of columns 2 and 3.

DESCRIPTION: Trails are seen from the top left corners of the letters in LIBERTY. The offset direction is 300º.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – small die dots over the seven of the date.

Reverse is MDS – light die crack from the left tip of the cornice, traveling towards the T in UNITED.

NOTE: Die was discovered by Bob Piazza of Florida.

DESCRIPTION: Trails are seen from the tops of the digits in the date. There is also a small trail line seen from the bottom terminus of the 2 digit. The offset direction is 060º.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted.

Reverse is MDS – large die crack in column 1, extending into the cornice and into the field above the cornice. Die crack in column 2 and 3, with both extending into the cornice. Two die chips in column 11.

DESCRIPTION: This is an unusual trail die in the fact that LIBERTY is smeared in the west direction. This is an example of a ramped trail die. Also noted are the two faint trails, one on the D of GOD and the other on the W of WE. The date also shows some affects of design extension. The offset direction appears to be in the area of 270 degrees. This die was found by Bob Piazza of Florida.

DESCRIPTION: Another unusual trails die that shows two distinct trail lines from the top of the letters LIBER of LIBERTY. The offset directions of the trail lines are 010 and 350 degrees. This die was found by Bob Piazza of Florida.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, Obverse is MDS – small die scratches in chin area.

Reverse is MDS – none noted.

DESCRIPTION:  Trail lines are seen from the bottom of the letters in LIBERTY, with an offset direction of 200 degrees. While this die is similar to 2007-1DEO-001T, the die markers are different and there is a difference in the look of the actual trails. While little difference is seen on the obverse between stages, the reverse is the side that tells the story. This die was found by Jeremy Haynes of Alabama.

Stage “B”, obverse is EDS – none noted

Reverse is EDS – A die chip is developing on the left cornice edge. A die crack is seen from the top of the left urn into column 3.

Stage “C”, obverse is MDS – none noted.

Reverse is MDS – The die chip on the left cornice edge has enlarged. The die crack in column3 from the top of the left urn has lengthened. A die crack has developed on the top of column3 and 4. A die chip has formed on the top of column 2.

DESCRIPTION: Faint trail lines are seen from the left top of the letters in LIBERTY. The offset direction is 330 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – die crack with die chip in Lincoln’s hair.

Reverse is LDS – die cracks are seen on the tops of the columns 1, 2 and 4.

NOTE: this die was found by Louis Schaeffer.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate trail lines are seen from the left top corners of the letters in LIBERTY. Also seen are trail lines from the two Ts in TRUST. All the trail lines in this die have an offset direction of 330 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – two die cracks in the hair of Lincoln’s head.

Reverse is MDS – a die crack in column 1 that crosses over the top of bay one and develops into a die chip in column 2. Die chip is seen in the top of column 3.

NOTE: This die was found by Louis Schaeffer.
