DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the EPU, the A and T of STATES, the ERICA of AMERICA, the word CENT, the right side of the dome of the capitol building and the left shoulder, cuff and elbow of Lincoln. The offset direction of all the trail lines is 140 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted.

Reverse is MDS – a die chip is seen on the left side of the O in OF. A die crack is seen in the lower right boot of Lincoln.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the tops of the letters in UNITED and the A of STATES. The offset direction is 330 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – light die scratching is seen under Lincoln’s chin.

Reverse is MDS – a large die gouge dissects the P of PLURIBUS and the first U on UNUM.

DESCRIPTION: Letter distortion and trail lines are seen on the tops of the letters of UNITED. The offset direction is 300 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – three die scratches are seen beneath Lincoln’s chin.

Reverse is MDS – diagonal die scratches are seen through the Capitol buildings dome.

DESCRIPTION: Sharp trail lines are seen from the top of the letters in the motto EPU. The offset direction is 330°.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is MDS – none noted

Reverse is MDS – a die crack is seen on the left cuff of Lincoln’s jacket. A small die chip and crack is seen on Lincoln’s right shoulder.

DESCRIPTION: Faint trails are seen from the last S in STATES and the F in the word OF. The offset direction is 090° .

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen between the Y of LIBERTY and the back of Lincoln’s jacket.

Reverse is MDS – two small die cracks are seen from the left boot of Lincoln merging into the field.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the F in the word OF and the AM of AMERICA. The offset direction is 090°.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is MDS – a thick die gouge is seen from the top of the R in LIBERTY. Die scratching is seen under Lincoln’s chin area and into the first digit of the date.

Reverse is MDS – none noted

DESCRIPTION:  Trail lines are seen from the designer’s initials, the motto EPU, the word CENT and the E of ONE. The offset direction is 120°.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B “, obverse is MDS – none noted

Reverse is MDS – a die crack is seen from the bottom left corner of the D in UNITED. A die crack is seen from the top of Lincoln’s head.

Description – Trail lines can be seen from the EPL of the motto and the designer’s initials. These trail lines have an offset direction of 350°.

Die markers: Obverse – a diagonal die scratch can be seen through the RT of LIBERTY.
