DESCRIPTION: This is a dual trail die. The first set of lines is seen from the E of WE and has an offset direction of 080°. The second set of trail lines is seen on the letters RUST of TRUST. This set of trail lines has an offset direction of 340°. Also present is the single trail line on the left arm of the letter Y in LIBERTY. Presumably, this is generated from a master trail die.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C“, obverse is LDS – a die crack is seen from the rim through the W of W and into Lincoln’s head.

Reverse is LDS – a die chip is seen on the apex of the shield. A die crack has formed from the apex and into the field.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the tops of the letters in LIBERTY. The offset direction is 340°.

 

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C“, obverse is LDS – a die crack is seen in the back of Lincoln’s head. Another die crack is seen in Lincoln’s forehead.

Reverse is LDS – a die crack is seen along the right upper edge of the shield, through the apex and into the field. A small die gouge is seen above the designer’s initials on the right side.
