1995P – 1DEO; 010 – 010 Files

1995P-1DEO-001T                                   000°

Description: Trail lines are seen from the tops of the letters in LIBERTY. The offset direction is 000°.

Die Markers: Obverse is LDS – a die crack is seen extending into the field from the left bottom of the E in LIBERTY. Another die crack is seen through the G of GOD.

Reverse is LDS – none noted.

1995P-1DEO-002T                                     250°

DESCRIPTION: There is letter distortion on IN GOD WE TRUST with indications of a direction of 250º. Protruding knobs can be seen on the left tops of IN, WE and T of TRUST, with the heaviest indication seen on WE. While there are die scratches in the same direction, I do believe that the lines from the bottom of the L and also the I in LIBERTY are part of this trail die since they are in the same general direction as the trails on IN GOD WE TRUST. The late die state of this example may preclude us from seeing trail lines; however, earlier die states may have stronger indications of trails.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none noted

Reverse is LDS – die crack in the cornice over bays 2 to 4. Die crack from the cornice over column 9, through the R of AMERICA and onto the rim

1995P-1DEO-003T                                      270°

DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines from the BER of LIBERTY, with an offset direction of 270 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none observed.

Reverse is LDS – die dent, next to the rim, over the D of UNITED. Small die gouge is seen in between the E and S of STATES. Die scratch from the lower terminus of the last S in STATES.

1995P-1DEO-004T                                    030°

DESCRIPTION: Not the typical trail die that is encountered, however, it is still one. Slight indications of trails on the top right corners in the word IN. Extra thickness, with an extra bar (this may or may not be an affect of the trails) on the W of WE. Extreme extra thickness is seen on the top horizontal bar of the E in WE. The top horizontal features of the two Ts, the R and the S of TRUST have extreme extra thickness. Notice the divergence of the top termini of the U in TRUST. This gives us some indication of the direction of movement.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die gouge under the T of LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – large die crack from the top of column 8, through the cornice and roof, up through the M of UNUM and the I of PLURIBUS, through the last S of STATES and into the rim.

1995P-1DEO-005T                                          340°

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none observed.

1995P-1DEO-006T                                       300°

1995P-1DEO-007T                                         200°

DESCRIPTION:  Nice trail lines can be seen below the date and LIBERTY with an offset direction of 200 degrees.  Because the trails encompass both sides of the die, this is considered a major. This die was found by Bob Piazza of Florida.

Reverse is LDS – Die damage runs  southeast from the rim through ‘OF’

and the last memorial bay.  Die scratches from the memorial base to O of ONE.

1995P-1DEO-008T                                      140°
