DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – die gouge above the L in LIBERTY. Small die dot is seen just below the R of TRUST.

Reverse is LDS – none noted.

DESCRIPTION:  Light fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under column 3. Light step deviation is seen under columns 5 and 6 with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted.

Reverse is MDS – die gouge in the middle of the C in CENT. Light die clash in bay 4.

DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines from the tops of the letters in EPU. Faint trail lines can also be seen on the TES of STATES. The offset direction is 330º.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS –none noted.

Reverse is LDS – small die gouge in the O of ONE. Die gouge on the bottom arm of the E in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8.

Reverse is LDS – die gouge in the O of ONE. Die dot on the under the diagonal of the N in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none noted.

Reverse is LDS – die crack under left urn.  A large die crack, from the E of CENT, through the stairs, into column # 7 and into the cornice.

DESCRIPTION: Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6 and 7. The deviation is particularly sharp under column 6.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – die scratch on Lincoln’s neck.

Reverse is LDS – die gouge under the right base of the Memorial building.

DESCRIPTION: Light fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under column 3.  Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6 and 7.

Reverse is LDS – die chip on column 1. Die break on column 2. Die gouge over the designer’s initials.

Reverse is MDS – Die scrape from the base of the Memorial building through the N of CENT.

Stage “C”, obverse is MDS – none noted

Reverse is MDS – large die chip in the C of AMERICA.

 

1994P-1DER-020WST                             180º

DESCRIPTION: This die is very similar in appearance to 1994P-1DER-001WST. There is strong step deviation under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8 with light step deviation under columns 4 and 9. There is fluting ling extension, into the stylobate, under columns 10, 11 and 12, with added extensions on the designer’s initials and the right hand corners of the stylobate. The base line has extra thickness on the right side. This die was found by Joshua Haynes.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted.

Reverse is MDS – the formation of a large die chip on the left side of column # 1 is eminent. A small die gouge is next to the left corner of the cornice. Two small die dots are on the roof line under both Us of UNUM.
