DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – two die gouges below the I of IN.

Reverse is LDS – two die gouges above the left base tip.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate fluting line under column 3 with light step deviation under columns 5, 6 and 7.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die scratches in front of Lincoln’s throat. Die scratches between WE and TRUST.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate fluting lines are seen under columns 2, 3, 11 and 12 along with corner extensions on the left side of the stylobate. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5 through 8.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted.

Reverse is MDS – Three die gouges around the O of ONE. Three die gouges around the designer’s initials.

Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none noted

Reverse is LDS – die dot in the middle of the C in AMERICA.

DESCRIPTION: Sharp, well defined, strong to moderate, multiple fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under columns 1, 2, 3, 10, 11 and 12. Strong, well defined, step deviation is seen under columns 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and 9. Light, single line step deviation is seen under both right and left Urns.

NOTES: This is a very strong wavy step that shows multiple fluting lines under a single column and only one of the very few that show column extension under all columns. This is a definite major trail die.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – two small die gouges in the vicinity of the I of IN.

Reverse is LDS – Die dot in the N of UNUM. Die gouge to the left of column 1.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate fluting line extension, into the stylobate, under column 3. Light step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6 and 7, with emphasis on the left side.

Reverse is MDS – small die dot between the N and I of UNITED. A small die dot is seen between the N and E of ONE.

Reverse is MDS – Strong die scratches around the O of ONE. Another die scratch in the C of CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Light steps deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8, with emphasis on the left side.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – none noted

Reverse is MDS – die crack with retained die break in the cornice above column 4. Die crack from the top of column 5 and into the cornice above column 6. A die clash is seen in the lower part of bay 9.
