DESCRIPTION: Moderate to strong fluting line extension is seen under columns 2 and 3. Moderate step deviation is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. The offset direction is 190 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none noted.

Reverse is LDS – a small die gouge is seen in the O of ONE. A die gouge is seen on the left side of the left leg of the N in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate trail lines are seen from the tops of the letters in EPU. Environmental damage may conceal additional trail lines. The offset direction is 000 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – a die gouge is seen on the jaw line of Lincoln.

Reverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen between the U and N of UNITED.

DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines are seen from the top left corners of the letters in the EPU. The offset direction is 330 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “A”, obverse is LEDS – none noted.

Reverse is LEDS – light die scratching is seen through the words ONE and CENT.

NOTE: This die was found by Jeremy Gardner.

DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines are seen from the left corner of the roof, the left corner of the base line, the lower left corners of the NE of ONE and the lower left corner of the E of CENT. This is marginal coin due to environmental damage and further trail lines may be seen in a better conditioned coin. The offset direction appears to be 270 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – none noted

Reverse is LDS – a die crack is seen from the cornice above column 11, through the R of AMERICA and onto the rim.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the top right corners of the letters in the EPU. Also seen are trails from the tops of AMER of AMERICA and the NT of CENT. The offset direction is 030 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – a die dot is seen between and over the ER of LIBERTY.

Reverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen in the first A of AMERICA. Die damage is seen in the lower left corner  of bay 2.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the letters in AMERICA. The first set has an offset direction of 010 degrees, while the other set, seen on the E and C, have an offset direction of 190 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – a small die gouge is seen under the S in TRUST.

Reverse is LDS – a die gouge is seen next to the lower left corner of column 1.

DESCRIPTION: Moderately strong trail lines are seen from the letters in CENT. Also seen are faint trail lines from the E of ONE (not pictured). The offset direction is 090 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – a die gouge is seen in the middle of the N in the word IN.

Reverse is LDS – die scratches are seen around the designer’s initials

DESCRIPTION: Light to moderate step distortion is seen under columns 5, 6, 7 and 8. There are also faint trail lines from the E of ONE and the C of CENT. The offset direction is 180 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “D”, obverse is VLDS – none noted.

Reverse is VLDS – die damage is seen under the first S of STATES and under the E of ONE.

 

1995P-1DER-039T                                     330°

DESCRIPTION:  Trail lines are seen from the bottom left of the first S in STATES, the motto EPU and the left top corners of the columns on the right side of the Memorial building. The offset direction is 330°

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C “, obverse is LDS – a small die gouge is seen above the second 9 digit in the date.

Reverse is LDS – a rim nick is seen above the E in STATES.

NOTE: This die was found by Ron Traino.

 

1995P-1DER-040T                           350°

DESCRIPTION: Moderate to strong stubby trail lines are seen on the EPU, the TED of UNITED, STATES OF AMERICA , FG, the left corner of the roof, the left edge of the cornice and base of the memorial,  and ONE. The offset direction is 350 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, Obverse is MDS – A die scratch shows above the head, below the G of GOD.

Reverse is MDS – A die scratch above the O of ONE.

NOTE: This die is considered a major due to the overall strength and coverage of the trail lines. This die was found by Bill Slaughter.
