DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines, with distortion, are seen on the tops of the letters in LIBERTY. Also notice the extra thickness in the right arm of the letter Y in LIBERTY. The offset direction appears to be 000 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – a die dent with pushed metal is seen just left and below the bust and next to the rim.

Reverse is MDS – a small die gouge is seen to the right of the N in CENT.

DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines are seen from the top of the letters in LIBERTY. This is a LDS die and the trail lines may tend to be stronger in earlier die states. The offset direction is 350 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – numerous, small die gouges are seen in and around the date.

Reverse is LDS – none noted

DESCRIPTION: A single trail line is seen from the top of the 1 digit in the date. The offset direction is 280 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C”, obverse is LDS – two die dots are seen in the field below and to the right of the last T in TRUST.

Reverse is LDS – a die chip is seen on the left side of the T in CENT.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C “, obverse is LDS – two small die dots are seen above the first 9 digit in the date. Two small die dots are seen by the VDB

Reverse is LDS – a die dot is located by the rim between the NT of CENT. A die gouge is seen under the last A of AMERICA.

DESCRIPTION: Light trail lines are seen from the left top corners of the letters in LIBERTY. The offset direction is 300 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C “, obverse is LDS – a small die gouge is seen under the US of TRUST.

Reverse is LDS – die scratching is seen in and around the EPU. Moderate die scratching is seen under the Memorial building.

DESCRIPTION: Moderate trail lines are seen from the bottom of the 1 and all three 9 digits in the date. The offset direction is 260 degrees.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “B”, obverse is MDS – die scratches are prevalent around the face, back of head and behind the date. Die gouge between the G and O f of GOD and another near the left base of bust.

Reverse is MDS – SW-NE die scratches found behind the E of CENT

DESCRIPTION: This die shows trail lines that have been strengthened by die deterioration or metal flow. Notice that the lines from the tops of the letters in the motto IN GOD WE TRUST are in one direction, unlike metal flow lines which tend to be radial in direction. The offset direction is 000°.

DIE MARKERS: Stage “C “, obverse is LDS – an elongated die gouge is seen above the T in LIBERTY.

Reverse is LDS – a die break is seen on the left side cornice edge. Another die break is seen in the top of column 2.

DESCRIPTION: Trail lines are seen from the top of the letters in LIBERTY. Also seen are trail lines on the letters of IN. The offset direction is 330°.

Reverse is LDS – a small die gouge is seen to the left of the T in UNITED. A die gouge is seen to the left of the E in EPU. Two die gouges are seen to the right of the last A in AMERICA.
